Radio IBS Liberty is an alternative public radio network founded in 1986 in Leeds, West Yorkshire, and Speyer am Rhein, Germany, as as part of the Independent Broadcasting Service Liberty. It is an international media network with about 12 affiliated television and radio programs. Radio IBS Liberty is also known as Radio IBS Leeds.

Radio IBS Liberty and IBS Independent Broadcasting Service Liberty are independently operated, non-commercial, listener-supported radio stations in the United Kingdom and in Germany that is known for its liberal political orientation. It is operated by the IBS Independent Broadcasting Service media network with support from a small company based in London, and others.

Radio IBS Liberty is also producing educational radio and television programs for an inter-religious understanding such as faith programs about the Jewish, Muslim, Christian faith and religion and others. The idea to produce such programs in the German language and in the English language came through an inspiration through another radio program produced by BBC London (British Broadcasting Cooperation).

In 2006 the co-operation with the international independent media project Liberty and Peace NOW! Human Rights Reporters has been launched and Radio IBS Liberty providing news stories and radio programs in association with Liberty and Peace NOW! Human Rights Reporters.

As in the year of its foundation, Radio IBS Liberty is still operating under low, and even zero, budget conditions.

The radio programs have been heard by listeners from about 40 different countries.

Radio IBS Liberty has its own radio archives, housed in France, United Kingdom, Germany and other countries.

History

Early history

Radio IBS Liberty and IBS Independent Broadcasting Service Liberty which is also known as Radio IBS Leeds, IBS Television Leeds (because of the place of its foundation) was founded in 1986 by the journalist and author of five books Andreas Klamm. He is also known as a pacifist. After the completion of his entire military service with the German Air Force in 1988-1989 for 15 months he filed for conscientious objector status, which was denied by German Military authorities.

The grandfather of Andreas Klamm is the 'former FRENCH ARMY OFFICER Haedi Sabaot and a French citizen, which brought the journalist, broadcast journalist and author in a serious conflict and caused him to start to think about the situation what could happen if there would be another war between France and Germany. The French Army Officer Haedi Sabaot is missing since 1945 after World War II.

The founder of IBS Independent Broadcasting Service Liberty has joined other conscientious-objectors. Andreas Klamm is working since 1984 as a journalist, broadcast journalist, radio and television producer and author. His grandmother has left in 1950 Germany for ever and became a citizen of AUSTRALIA in the city of Melbourne, State of Victoria.

He believes that international understanding could help to avoid wars and other conflicts.

Radio IBS Liberty and IBS Independent Broadcasting Service Liberty was founded in 1986 by the journalist and author Andreas Klamm, who is still director. The service has aired its own television productions from New York City in 2001 / 2002 related to the attacks on the World Trade Center.

Most of the radio and television programs a are produced as an independent talk show or program that covers democracy, human rights and justice issues. In many cases the television and radio programs produced on the Radio IBS Liberty / IBS Independent Broadcasting Service Liberty media network are a compilation of news, interviews, and documentaries.

Some of the programs produced by IBS have been aired on different public-access television stations. Since 2006 production has largely taken place in London, Paris, and close to the city of Ludwigshafen in Germany. All productions are available at a fee as audio files for listeners want to order copies of any programs.

(an independent television and radio news hour) which is the first journalist which has received the Right Livelihood Award with her sister laureates Dr. Monika Hauser (Swiss-Italian, founder of Medica Mondiale, Germany), Asha Haji Elmi (a female politician from Somali), Krishnammal Jagannathan, which is referred with her husband Sankaralingam Jagannathan as the "Soul of India".

During the G8 summit in Heilgendamm Germany in 2007 more than 12 independent television and radio productions have been produced and broadcast for Radio IBS Liberty and IBS Television Liberty.

Zwei neue Bücher: Amy Goodman und die Freiheit der Presse

Der Französisch-deutsche Journalist, Rundfunk-Journalist, Autor und Redaktions-Leitung des internationalen, alternativen nicht-kommerziellen Medien-Netzwerkes IBS Independent Broadcasting Service Liberty (Radio IBS Liberty, IBS TV Liberty, seit 1986), Andreas Klamm, hat im Februar zwei neue Bücher zum Wirken und Arbeiten der mehrfach international ausgezeichneten amerikanischen Journalistin, Rundfunk-Journalistin und Autorin Amy Goodman des alternativen Fernseh- und Radio-Nachrichten-Programms „Democracy NOW“ und zur Freiheit der Presse in den Vereinigten Staaten von Amerika und in Europa veröffentlicht.

Bereits im September 2008 hat der Journalist und Autor mehrerer Bücher, der auch Mitglied der International Federation of Journalists (IFJ, www.ifj.org, Internationale Förderation der Journalisten in Bruessel) ist, sich als einer von 60.000 Menschen für die sofortige Freilassung der Journalistin Amy Goodman und weiterer Journalisten eingesetzt und an die U.S.-Staatsanwälte Briefe mit der Bitte zur Freilassung der Journalisten geschrieben.

Amy Goodman und weitere Journalisten unter anderem auch von der internationalen Nachrichtenagentur AP (Associated Press) waren im Zusammenhang mit Bericht-Erstattungen zum Republic National Convention (RNC) in St. Paul in den Vereinigten Staaten von Amerika verhaftet worden.

Die amerikanische Journalistin und Rundfunk-Journalistin Amy Goodman ist eine graduierte Harvard-Universitäts-Absolventin, die seit 1984 für alternative Radio- und Fernseh-Stationen in den U.S.A. arbeitet. Sie wurde mit einer Vielzahl von international angesehenen Preisen wie etwa den Robert F. Kennedy Memorial Prize, Edwin H. Major Armstrong Award, Ruben Salazar Journalism Award und einer Vielzahl weiterer Preise für ihre internationale Friedens-Arbeit und journalistische Arbeiten in Presse, Film, Funk und Fernsehen ausgezeichnet.

Nach der Freilassung der Journalistin im September 2008 recherchierte der Journalist Andreas Klamm mehr als drei Monate zum Wirken und Arbeiten seiner Kollegin Amy Goodman, die so wörtlich als eine „echte und wahre Stimme für den Frieden und als ein gutes Beispiel für exzellenten, internationalen Journalismus bezeichnet werden kann.“

Im Dezember erhielt Amy Goodman in Stockholm in Schweden den Right Livelihood Award der Right Livelihood Foundation, ein Preis der weltweit ansehen als alternativer Nobel-Preis genießt und von dem ehemaligen Europa-Politiker Jakob von Uexkuell gegründet wurde. Amy Goodman ist die erste Journalistin, die mit dem international sehr angesehenen alternativen Nobel-Preis für ihre Verdienste geehrt wurde.

Andreas Klamm reiste nach Schweden und hatte die Chance bei mehreren Fernseh-Produktionen zur Verleihung des alternativen Nobel-Preises Amy Goodman und die drei weiteren Preis-Trägerinnen, Dr. Monika Hauser, Krishnammal Jagannathan (Indien) und die aus Somalia stammende Politikerin Asha Haji kennen zu lernen. Er produzierte auch eine Fernseh-Aufzeichnung mit der Verleihung des alternativen Nobel-Preises im Schwedischen Parlament. In Stockholm produzierte der freie Fernseh-Produzent, der in diesem Jahr sein 25jähriges Jubiläum seiner Tätigkeit als Journalist, Rundfunk-Journalist und Autor feiert, eine gemeinsame Kurz-Moderation für Fernseh-Sendungen mit Amy Goodman. Der Rundfunk-Journalist ist seit 1984 auch als frei arbeitender Fernseh- Film- und Radio-Produzent tätig und erhielt für einige seiner Fernseh-Sendungen in den Jahren 1986, 1987, 1988 und 1989 Förderpreise, Urkunden und Auszeichnungen unter anderem von der Landeszentrale für politische Bildung in Rheinland-Pfalz.

Zum Arbeiten und Wirken der Journalistin Amy Goodman plant er eine kleine Informations-Reihe. In dieser Reihe sind jetzt im Februar in Paris in Frankreich und in Norderstedt in Deutschland beim BOD-Verlag zwei neue Bücher in englischer und deutscher Sprache erschienen, die überwiegend einem Teil des Wirkens und Arbeitens der international angesehenen Journalistin Amy Goodman und mit der Freiheit der Presse in den Vereinigten Staaten von Amerika und Europa gewidmet sind.

Einer der Großväter von Andreas Klamm ist der Französische Offizier und Französische Staatsbürger, Haedi Sabaot, der 1945 in Kaiserslautern in Deutschland stationiert war und seit 1945 vermisst wird. Seit 1984 befindet sich der Autor auf der Suche nach seinem Großvater. Seine Großmutter Martha Kolacz konnte er 1987 Dank der freundlichen Unterstützung der Australischen Botschaft in der Stadt Melbourne im Staat Victoria in Australien nach rund dreijähriger Suche finden. Vor rund zweieinhalb Jahren erhielt der Journalist auf eine Anfrage beim Militär-Attaché in Paris einen Brief. Der erhoffte Hinweis mit einer Spur zum Großvater konnte allerdings in dem Schreiben der Französischen Militär-Behörden aus Paris nicht mitgeteilt werden.
